well i found a 1996 SA50P honda elite S for dirt cheap.
this thing is non-running at the time. the person i got it from said it will start but not stay running.( a simple carb. problem.) and that it needs a battery. He knew nothing about it. or what a dio motor was. Heres some pics of it. (note i just got it home. i haven't had time yet to take the purple stickers off or anything) A DIO motor is one of the fastest motors you can get here in the states. i cant decide weather to go all out or just to do a few small mods. ill decide once i get it running.
here it is now.
Another point of view
3002 miles
both my elites. ( aka - the twins )
The Hole Group.
ill be happy to get this thing running. ill make sure to keep you all posted on what i find wrong with it. And my progress.

just started working on it. took the gas tank off because it looks like old gas. so im going to clean the tank well im at it. im draining the oil also. no telling what they had it in. when i bought it i thought the guy meant the battery wouldn't hold a charge. no, he meant no battery at all.
I did check for spark and it has a nice blue/white spark. It might need a set of rings. the compression feels like it could be a hair better. i have yet to take apart the carb. or check the reeds.
This thing has got me so amped, i wish i didn't have to go to work today.

cleaned the carb., cleaned the reeds the best i could. drilled the washer out of the tail pipe. took the limiter off the front pulley. cleaned up the plug. cleaned the gas tank, fixed the filter, got the oil tank off and cleaned up the frame and what not.
what a long day. after all that crap i put it back together and it didnt want to start. i put some oil in the spark plug hole, kicked it a few times, put the plug back in. and it started. it fired right up, would idle fine. on stand it would rew a good amount. so put the seat on it. and tried to go for a ride.
no power. it would go a foot then bog. i keep trying to see if it was just cold but it didnt seem like it had any power even after running for a good 3 minutes or so.
the fact that it started with oil in the spark plug hole is a sign of bad rings. how ever it runs on the stand some what. no power is also a sign of bad reeds. when i was looking over mine. if i looked real close i could see a very small gap. What do you guys think it is?

ok so the rings were not bad. but the piston had one real deep groove in it. about the same in the cylinder. My step dad and i cleaned up everything the best we could and put it back to gather. ( We did the same thing on my 92 elite and it still runs good to this day.) it was kinda hard to start at first. no gas and it wouldn't start. anything over a hair it wouldn't start. it had to be barely on to get it to start.
After playing with the carb. some it would start first kick . the compression is a world of a difference. the take off was amazing up till 15mph or so (the speed-o cable is broke. 15 is my guess) then nothing after that. it would spit and sputter and slow or spit and sputter and not speed up any more.
Another day, another problem.

i just got it running today. i took a scotch bight pad ( a rough sponge ) and zip-tied it over the carb opening. ( same thing i did with my sundiro ) as a air filter.
took it out for a run and it ran great. take off is good( feels like it could be a little better ) i dont know top speed but i know i can hit 35mph. i lined up next to another scooter. there top speed was 35, i cruised next to them and could have gone a little faster no problem.
Im wanting to do a plug chop tomorrow to see whats going on heat wise. but yeah its running good. starts first kick every time. idles good.
i plain on ordering a bore kit Friday. because i know my cylinder could be better.

plug chop results....
perfect no?
i got this thing running good. it needs a little work still, like a real air filter and a carb. spacer....
but so far it runs great.

i got the 96 road legal today....
the blue sticker on my 92 is a old old stick i had in my shed. way out dated it still looks better then not having anything at all.
-----------------------------------------------
And i added this today.
i hate the way it normally looks. this makes it seem less rack like and more a style thing.
------------------------------------------------
This is what it looks like all together.

New tail light. And just a cleaner look.
i got the bore kit about broke and i got to tell you it is fun. i love doing wheelies, i just wish i was better at it.
Right now im still running a low grade bore kit. But in a few days im going to be getting a sweet polini bore kit. Its got 300miles on it. already broke in and everything. I cant wait.
I think im going to put that one on right away and save the one i have it now for back up.

ok, so sorry for the lack of update. I really kinda took a break from the hole stunting world.
I was out tearing up the streets with some friends. A few on scooters and a few on other things. That day my friend jimmy was out there on his 450 honda 4wheeler. He took a blind turn about 45mph(72.42 kph) coming off a dirt trail and slammed into me.
Bent my forks, ripped all the treads off the handle bars. Since im to broke to go out buy new ones i had to give up my old 92 elite. and take the forks and bars off that. Along with some plastic and what not.
After i got it all back together i kinda backed off for a few days. Just riding normal. (boring i know). then a few days turned into a few more, after a while i just got into making it as nice as i could, and as fast as i could. I really gave up on stunting (besides a few wheelies here and there).
Im not working right now, so i cant afford to fix what i might break stunting. Im getting ungodly bored right now. very soon i should be getting a new toy to stunt on. but i guess for now im just keeping this one clean. :(
